Any contribution big or small will help this family start over and protect their children's health and wellbeing.
Christchurch, Canterbury
Georgia, her husband Dylan and their three young children recently received heartbreaking news - the rental home they had been living in for nearly two years tested positive for high levels of Methamphetamine contamination. They had to face the devastating reality that the home was not safe for their children or themselves. As a result, the family vacated immediately. They also have had to part with the majority of their belongings. Due to the extent of the contamination, they are unable to keep any soft furnishings such as beds, couches, clothing, linen, or children's toys. They've also chosen not to retain any porous items, and even items that can be professionally cleaned, post too much uncertainty - as there is no way to be completely sure the contaminations is truly gone. For the safety of their children, they are being extremely cautious. Most heartbreaking has been saying goodbye to deeply sentimental belongings - baby blankets, first teddies, and keepsakes that carry memories from their children's earliest years. Georgia and Dylan are doing everything they can to seek accountability, but in the meantime, they urgently need support to begin rebuilding a safe and healthy home for their whānau. They are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support and love they've received so far, and have been blown away by their amazing community - who have wrapped their arms around them during this painful time. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and compassion.

The family has to find alternative accomodation; replacement of all personal items such as clothing, pillows, school uniforms, shoes. They are left with nothing. We are trying to raise as much money as possible to help this family back onto their feet.
Update to this family's situation 10 June 2025
Georgia and Dylan have recently accessed their KiwiSaver, and were supported by grandparents and parents to purchase their first home. They have few items apart from those donated to put in the home, but are excited to be able to secure a first home that they know will be safe for their children. We have had some furniture donated, and some children's and adults clothing. The funds raised from this page, will help them to get some further essential items for their house and get started again. They are very grateful to each and every donation that has been received along with the messages and good wishes that they have had. Thank you all so much for the support given. We sincerely hope that no other family ever has to go through anything similar.
