Helping Ofa and her family of eight rebuild their lives.
Auckland
Ofa Fonua and her six children have been through a great deal of hardship recently. Fifteen years ago, Ofa made the decision to move from Tonga to New Zealand in search of a better life. Unfortunately, her dreams were shattered when she and her family lost everything in the devastating flooding of Auckland that began on the night of January 27th.
Ofa's family has faced numerous challenges since this has occurred, but they have persevered and remained strong. She worked hard to build a life for herself and her children, only to have it all taken away in an instant. The flooding destroyed their home and all of their possessions, leaving them with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Unfortunately, Ofa and her whanau had no insurance.
Despite this devastating loss, Ofa and her family have not lost hope. They have been inspired by the outpouring of love and support from their community, who have come together to help them in their time of need. From donations of food and clothing to offers of shelter and support, their community has rallied around them, providing a glimmer of hope in an otherwise dark time. As an integral part of her community, we at Alsco believe that we can extend a hand to one of our own.
We encourage everyone to support Ofa and her family by donating to their cause or reaching out to offer help in any way possible. Let us show them that even in the darkest of times, there is always a ray of hope and a community of support waiting to catch us at the fall.
Ofa Fonua is a dedicated, hardworking colleague worthy and deserving of our support.
Food, clothing, and most importantly accommodation for Ofa and her family.
