In Summary, the island is low on food and the water is contaminated. Residents are displaced, living on cruise ships or termporary shelters.
Canterbury
Over 16,000 people have been displaced from my Ancestral village in the the Northern part of the Island of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The humanitarian crisis caused by volcanic eruptions on the Caribbean island of St Vincent will last for months, a UN official has warned. The Volcano erupted on the 9th of April 2021 early in the morning.
These eruptions, as well as, not very documented earthquakes, continue to rock the region leaving devastation that will last for months if not years.
I have visited my Ancestral village 5 times and have extensive family that will be facing extreme hardship.
I would like donations to help them rebuild there lives, homes, land and live stock. The north side of the island is now a red zone completely covered in Volcanic ash.
I will also be looking at funds to pay for flights, if possible, to go on a sabbatical one day to help in the future, once it is safe.
It is important that you understand that funds donated via this page go directly to the source and to help and assist my family and their village. I am not confident that money given to the Saint Vincent government will trickle down adequately or fast enough.
I will organise the transfer of the funds to my family
The money will be used to help provide my imediately family with the support they need to rebuild their lives, and aid support of any projects in the poorer suburb of the Sandy Bay area.

Hi Everyone
As if things weren't bad enough with the volcano the recent hurricane Elsa has added extra devastation to my family's village.
So far there is no current changed to there situation and they are still displaced living on the South side of the island , the government has not allowed them to return for there own safety and the North Island is still a red zone.
Homes and lands have just been left as is with no sign of a clear objective or plan when they will be able to return if at all.
Thank you for all those that have donated so far.
Regards Roger
