Farewelling Mike English, Mid Canterbury contractor— helping Laura through

    A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported Laura through this Givealittle page.

    We're closing the page now with $2,851 raised from 13 generous donors. Every dollar goes directly to Laura and has made a real difference at the hardest possible time.

    Laura has now made the move to Ashburton and is settling in with her parents, surrounded by whānau and the support network she needs. A massive thank you once again to Hayden Mackenzie and his team at Hayden Mackenzie Contracting for helping Laura with the move and getting her household furniture into storage. Hayden's generosity from day one — the funeral reception, the move, and everything in between — has been beyond anything we could have asked for.

    To every donor, sharer, and friend who reached out: Laura has read every message and your kindness has meant the world. Mike would be quietly chuffed at how his community rallied for the woman he loved.

    Two days in and we're at $2,651 from 16 generous people. Genuinely overwhelming — thank you.

    Mike's farewell has been held, and a huge thanks goes to Hayden Mackenzie and the team at Hayden Mackenzie Contracting for arranging and hosting the reception, and for everything they've done for Laura and the family. They've also put together a beautiful tribute video of Mike's years working with them, which you can watch on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/hmackenziecontracting

    Laura is now starting the process of moving back to Ashburton to be closer to whānau. It'll take time, but every dollar raised here goes directly to making that move possible and covering the costs already incurred for Mike's farewell.

    If you've donated already — thank you, it means more than you know. If you knew Mike and haven't yet seen the page, or if you can share it with anyone in the Mid Canterbury community who did, that's just as valuable as a contribution.
