Feeding the homeless, connecting with the vulnerable.
Bay of Plenty
Milo Night has been running 2 years. Every Monday night a group of volunteers gather at the Willow St bus stop in Tauranga to feed, chat, and make connection with our local homeless community.
Our aim is to make connection through kindness. We create a space were anyone can come and have a coffee, tea, Milo, feed themselves, and have a conversation. On any one night we can connect with unto 100 people of all ages, gender, and ethnicities. Our numbers are double winter 2018 and have increased dramatically in the last 3 months.
We are a community response to an ever growing issue in Tauranga. The only questions we ask are "are you hungry? Would you like some more?"
We are not affiliated with any other organisation or charity and we are always in need of donations. As well a food we supply toiletries including toothpaste, razors, soap, shampoo, sanitary products, new socks, new underwear, and dog food. Recycled blankets, tents and sleeping bags. In winter there is an increasing demand for thermal underwear.
