Tragically, on New Year's Eve at approximately 6pm, Fernando, a vibrant 27-year-old experienced a severe stroke. Fernando was airlifted to Christchurch Hospital, where he received urgent medical attention and initially showed promising signs of improvement. Unfortunately, on Wednesday evening Fernando suffered another stroke, sadly ending his precious life.

Fernando had only just arrived in New Zealand on December 7th from Chile to reunite with his girlfriend, Pia, who was eagerly awaiting his arrival for several months.

This unexpected loss has left Pia and Fernando's family in a state of profound shock and grief. The suddenness of this tragedy has added an extra layer of difficulty for those who held him dear.

Furthermore, there will be expenses related to transporting his body back to his home country. Ensuring a respectful and proper journey back to Chile is a priority for his family, and the funds will contribute to making this process as smooth as possible.
