    Thank you all. The Givealittle page is now closed and raised $12,440 for the fighting fund. Amazing stuff. We've also had contributions directly to our bank account from individuals so this puts us in a good position to fight the good fight.

    A breakdown.

    - $12,440 donated through our Givealittle page

    - 16,054 signatures to the parliamentary petition over a month

    - 1.7m views on our Facebook page

    - Private donations through other individuals

    - Multiple newspaper articles

    - Multiple radio segments

    - Multiple TV articles

    For the petition: When we started we thought we would do well if we got 2,000 signatures. 16,054 signatures later, we are absolutely blown away by the passion of this community and the support from the rest of New Zealand.

    On July 22nd we will be presenting the petition to parliament. Our small band of volunteers is beavering away in the background on phase two of our plan. We will keep you updated.

  • Petition update: 14,797 signatures and counting after just three weeks.

    Three weeks ago, our petition was launched with a very straightforward aim: to make sure that any proposal affecting the Pegasus Golf Course is considered properly, through a full and transparent public process.

    Thank you for your signature. As we approach 15,000 signatures it is worth pausing for a moment to recognise the scale of what we have achieved.

    Pegasus is a town of 4,260 people. This response goes well beyond being a small local issue and shows that people further afield see the wider issue around 'who gets a say'.

    This has been reflected in a huge amount of media coverage including several front-page articles, radio coverage, TV news coverage and many online articles. We have even achieved overseas media coverage with articles written in Australia about what is happening in Pegasus.

    When a small community generates this level of support in such a short time, it sends a very clear message that people care about how decisions like this are made and expect to have a meaningful opportunity to be part of that process.

    This is not about preventing change or shutting down discussion. It is about ensuring that any change happens in the right way, where effects can be properly assessed and the community has a voice.

    Reaching this point in such a short period of time is something the community can take genuine confidence from. It shows that people are engaged, paying attention, and willing to step up when it matters.
