Flight costs to South Africa have doubled, help me to find closure and scatter the ashes of my 3 family members.
Christchurch, Canterbury
My sister Angela, brother-in-law Greg, and niece Zoe all died within 3 days apart from COVID-19, in December 2020. A remembrance ceremony hasn't happened, nor have their ashes been scattered. There hasn't been any closure since this tragedy. My immediate family in Johannesburg and myself in New Zealand are finding the flight costs to Durban, South Africa astronomical. Now that New Zealand has opened the borders and restrictions have relaxed, travel is coming back online, but flights, however, have doubled in price! This is yet another stumbling block in making this remembrance a possibility. I have saved half of my ticket from New Zealand to South Africa, but I would honestly like to make this a reality for a few close family members and myself. Please help us find closure after nearly 2 years. Thank you - Sue-Ellen
The money raised will help pay the balance of my international flight and 4 return local flights from Johannesburg to Durban for my family. If I don't manage to meet the target, hopefully flights costs reduce by April 2023.
