Nationwide
Skateboarding will make its debut as a competitive event in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
New Zealand has an athlete in Lenard Tejada who will compete in the first ever World Skate qualifier event.
The event – held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil – is also New Zealand's first step onto an Olympic qualification pathway for skateboarding.
New Zealand’s professional skateboarders have previously competed in similar World Cup events, but Lenard is not a professional yet. He trains out of personal passion, over and above his full-time job.
As fellow Kiwi’s, let’s help get New Zealand Skateboarding to the Olympics.
