First Tuvaluan 🇹🇻 woman to step into the Bodybuilding Competition in NZ for Wellness this COMING AUGUST 10TH 2024!

My name is Palipa LAUMAU born in Tuvalu and raised in NZ all my life. A little biography about myself. I am a single mama to 4 children, 2 of my eldest children are currently residing overseas and I have two of my youngest full time. I am 33 years of age and have been having a lot of health complications along the way. Year 2020 during Covid I got really sick and was misdiagnosed. It was revealed to me that I had Rheumatic heart fever 🤒 and immediately needed surgery to the heart. 2 of my valves were deteriorated and one needed a repair. After doing this I tried to go back to work, but couldn’t because I suffered so much with anxiety. My GP then have put me back on medical certs, and being a single mama on a benefit is hard. During my times of not being able to work, I broke a lot of rules by going to the gym and fight whatever I was battling with at the time. Over this period of time, I got inspired to take my journey serious and get into bodybuilding competition. I want to inspire woman of our youths and mothers who struggle with health problems etc. That’s all things are possible, regardless of whatever hardship life throws at you. But, with competing it comes with a cost, a cost that I and a family of 3(son 8yr& daughter 6yr)cannot afford. That’s why I am here today to reach out for help and support.
