Fixing Poppy’s broken shoulder

Sometimes life isn’t fair. This gorgeous filly, “Poppy”, is only 6 weeks old, Poker de Mariposa x Andretti and an absolute cracker. Purpose bred jumper and full of sass and character! Unfortunately I found her in the paddock with a broken shoulder. X-rays confirmed a displaced humeral fracture. Foals have a very good chance of repair with these kinds of injuries, it just takes money.

I’ve never asked for help like this before but after a great deal of support from the amazing horse community around me I have been encouraged to set up this page. I’ve done surgery with other horses and euthanised plenty of beautiful horses in my time, but this filly has such a bright future and so much will to live and fight.

Surgery will cost around $15k plus a long road of intensive aftercare. Poppy is totally worth it and more. Horses can be utterly heartbreaking as it’s so much time, effort, expense, and love to breed them 💔
