Help support Mozambican kids to learn how to swim and protect their marine environment by getting these togs in the air!
Auckland
I am currently running a tog donation for Mozambican children who are learning to swim through Nemos Pequenos (Little Nemos) program run by Marine Megafauna Foundation (https://marinemegafaunafoundation.org/blog/future-ocean-guardians/). I decided to start rallying for togs after personally attending these lessons and seeing the needs and potential that this program has. These kids livelihoods depend on the ocean yet most of them do not know how to enjoy the water safely. The local instructors are doing a fantastic job teaching the kids how to swim and protect their marine environment but sometimes they do not get to participate due to lack of swimwear. With NZ being a swimming nation I thought that we were perfectly placed to support these kids by donating togs that bring our own children so much fun and enjoyment. And support we did!
Thanks to all the wonderful individuals who donated swimwear I now have a rather large pile of togs. The next phase in this mission is to deliver these togs from New Zealand to Mozambique. I have calculated that it will cost approximately $250 (togs weigh a lot) to get these togs from Auckland to South Africa either as excess baggage or via post. From South Africa the togs with travel overland to Nemos Pequenos in Mozambique via a reliable transport company who runs weekly transfers.
So if you would like to help support these kids to not only look after themselves but also their amazing marine life then please place a donation to get these togs flying!
All money donated will go towards to cost of transporting the togs from Auckland to Johannesburg. Any surplus money raised will be used to buy additional togs for the kids, as we could still do with some bigger sizes for the teenagers.
