  • We’re not asking for money, please read this….

We asked for support and you showed up.

    27 people

    $1,735 raised

A 7-year-old Kiwi closer to his dream

Thank you. You didn’t just give money, you gave belief.

We have one more favour to ask.

We’re not asking for more money.

    We’re asking for your time.

    There’s a simple formula:

    27 people

share with 20 people they trust

    = 540 people reached

If 1 in 10 says yes:

    54 donors = $2,700 raised

That’s more than we’ve raised so far, just from sharing.

    ---

    Here’s the ask:

Think of a few people you know who are generous and would care.

    Send this to them.

    People don’t donate to causes.

They donate because someone they trust asked them.

    ---

Share this post or copy and paste the message below into email, WhatsApp groups, Messenger, or social media groups.

Send it to a few people you trust.

    Help Oscar get to Barcelona.

    ---

    Copy + paste:

Hey, I wanted to share something I supported.

A 7-year-old Kiwi footballer, Oscar, has been selected to train in Barcelona through Barça Academy.

I’ve donated because opportunities like this can change a young person’s life.

If this resonates, here’s the link:

Even $50 helps. If not, sharing it would mean a lot.

We’re not being asked for more money, just a few minutes of our time. I think you’re one of those people.

  • Barca Academy Value #3 = AMBITION

      14 April 2026

    Oscar’s TRY-athlon Mindset

Last month, Oscar took part in the Weet-Bix TRYathlon.

If you know Oscar, you’ll know this was right up his alley.

    He loves all sport.

Anything that involves movement, challenge, and pushing himself.

Swimming, biking, running… he was in his element.

The beautiful thing about the TRYathlon is that it’s all about participation.

    No podiums. No official winners.

Just kids showing up, trying their best, and finishing.

And that’s something we really value.

But here’s the honest (and slightly funny) part…

    Oscar is uber competitive.

So while it’s about participation, in his mind… he was still racing.

And to be fair, he flew around the course.

We’re pretty sure he placed first or second (a few kids got mixed up on the bike laps), but either way…

    He gave it everything.

    Because participation builds confidence.

    But competition builds growth.

And at higher levels of sport, both matter.

That’s why we love FC Barcelona’s values:

    H.E.A.R.T.

    Humility. Effort. Ambition. Respect. Teamwork.

I’ll admit… I thought the “A” might stand for attitude.

But I’m glad it stands for Ambition.

Because sometimes ambition and competitiveness get a bad reputation.

But when grounded in humility, respect, and teamwork, they drive growth, resilience, and excellence.

That’s what we’re nurturing in Oscar.

    A love for the game.

    A willingness to show up.

And the courage to push himself to be better.

    Whether that’s finishing the race…

or quietly trying to win it too.

  • 2 Years Old And Already Loving The Game!

      9 April 2026

Over five years ago… we broke the rules.

    Oscar had just turned two.

This video is from one of those early football training days.

Back when he wasn’t even supposed to be there.

Football training was for three to five-year-olds.

But we said he was three anyway.

    And honestly… it showed.

He didn’t always understand what was going on.

    Didn’t always have the words.

    Didn’t always keep up.

    But none of that mattered.

    Because he loved it.

Every kick. Every run. Every moment on that field —

    you could see something starting.

This was the very beginning of his football journey.

Now, over five years later, that same love is still there… stronger than ever.

And we’re doing everything we can to support that dream.

If you’ve ever believed in someone before they were ready…

or watched something small turn into something real…

We’d love your support as he takes the next step ❤️

  • Ju-jitsu Grading

      3 April 2026

On Wednesday, Oscar graded in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and earned his third tip on his grey belt white stripe 🥋

Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Most people see sport as just physical.

    But Jiu-Jitsu is different.

    It’s like chess under pressure.

Every roll forces kids to think, adapt, stay calm, and solve problems in real time. There’s no hiding. No shortcuts. Just learning how to handle discomfort, stay composed, and keep going when things get tough.

That’s why we love it for Oscar.

Yes, he’s football-obsessed (and always will be ⚽), with futsal right behind it, but what happens outside football is just as important.

    Jiu-Jitsu is helping him build:

    • Resilience when he’s under pressure

    • Confidence through earned progress

    • Discipline and respect

    • Strategy and decision-making

    • The ability to stay calm in uncomfortable situations

These are life skills. Not just sport skills.

And it’s not the only arena he’s stepping into.

Oscar throws himself into everything he can:

Football, futsal, rugby union, rugby league, touch rugby, swimming, jiu-jitsu, and even triathlons when the opportunity comes up.

    Why?

Because growth doesn’t come from staying in one lane.

It comes from testing yourself in many.

    Every sport adds another layer:

More coordination. More awareness. More toughness. More belief.

This is all part of the journey that’s leading him toward his dream of training at FC Barcelona in December.
