A community hero needs our help. With strength, courage and love she WILL get through this, because if anyone can - it’s our Karlyn.
Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui
Karlyn is a beacon of light and a local hero. A woman who consistently goes above and beyond to help others, she’s the last person to ever ask for help herself. However, now it’s time for us to help her. Karlyn has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 primary colon cancer, which has now spread to her liver and other organs making her terminally ill.
Unfortunately Karlyn has no life insurance and so generously has given all she has to others in need, before herself causing a financial burden.
For 37 years, Karlyn has dedicated her heart and soul to supporting those around her, being a pillar at Vautier Pharmacy in Palmerston North, providing unwavering assistance to those in need. She has worked in the Cancer ward at Palmerston North Hospital, supported and managed the Marist Rugby Club, volunteered with numerous community organizations including medics make music raising money for the rescue helicopter— and far more, all out of the kindness of her heart. Karlyn is someone the community relies on both emotionally and physically.
Beyond community service, Karlyn is a devoted mother to her two sons, Will and Jack, a loving wife to Brent, an irreplaceable colleague, and a "one-of-a-kind" special friend.
Let’s come together to support Karlyn in her fight, so she can continue doing the Lords work. Through God, strength and those that love and care (too many to count) we WILL get her through this.
Karlyn, to the world, you might be one person, but to us, you are our entire world.
I work with Karlyn at Pioneer Vautier Pharmacy. She has become a mother figure to me, my sidekick, my rock. She has taught me everything I know including her heart for others. I couldn’t do what we do with anyone else. No words will ever be enough.
Unfortunately, Karlyn will be undergoing specialist treatments that are not fully funded in New Zealand. She will also need assistance with everyday living expenses. She has given so much of herself— out of her own pocket—it’s time for us all to give back.
