Please help Peter and Natasha recover from this devastating event
Auckland
The Ambassador Theatre, home to Natasha Francois and Peter Roche, suffered a devastating fire on Monday the 25th of June. Thankfully the building is insured and is repairable but the couple have lost thousands of dollars worth of uninsured possessions.
Both Peter and Natasha have given so much to New Zealand’s cultural scene - Natasha through her writing and blog and Peter through his art and support of local music.
The building itself is a cultural icon. Designed in 1929, it was once one of the largest theatres in the country. Peter bought the building in 1996 and painstakingly restored it to use as a studio, a home, and to house his mind-blowing artworks. During the 2000s, Peter opened the lobby area as a bar which hosted dozens of New Zealand bands.
It’s now time to give back, to say thanks to this amazing couple and to show you care. It would be great if you could donate whatever you’re able to.
Cheers!
