Fundraising for Abdullah Naeem and family following the loss of Naeem Rashid and Talha Naeem.
Canterbury
Naeem Rashid and Talha Naeem both died as heroes following the terror attack at the Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch on Friday, 15 March. Naeem approached and tried to stop the gunman as he opened fire within the mosque. Talha saved his best friend by telling him to stay still as Talha lay on top of him shielding him from the gunfire.
Naeem Rashid was Abdullah Naeem's father and Talha was his older brother. Abdullah's mother and 5 year old brother are the other surviving members of their family.
Abdullah is a tutor with AHeadStart in Christchurch. Many of Abdullah's students that he tutors, as well as their parents, have stated that they wish to support Abdullah in the wake of this event. They are shocked and saddened that something like this could happen to a family so lovely, gentle and dedicated. His fellow tutors also very much feel the same.
Although both Naeem and Talha have now gone to a better place, their surviving family will need to carry on with daily life. This Givealittle page has been set up as a way for people to make a contribution to Abdullah and his family at this time of great loss. Funds will primarily support Abdullah with his education.
Abdullah is in his third year as a tutor with AHeadStart. Parents, students and tutors all wish to show their support for Abdullah at this difficult time.
Funds will be passed on to Abdullah to primarily support him with completing his Engineering degree, as well as assist their family in whatever way they need.
