Please give a little for my parents’ dog who needs to get surgery, X-rays and blood tests at the vet clinic
Auckland
Hi everyone! Hope you’re all doing well!
My parents need your help!
About a week ago, my parents reached out to me about their dog. They told me that their dog grew a lump on her body - it started out as a small lump but it has progressively gotten much bigger. I don’t live with my parents anymore and have moved out of their house for years so I didn’t know about the large lump until they told me recently. My parents have taken their dog to the vet for a consultation, painkillers and antibiotics for $233. The vet told my parents that surgery is required to remove the lump, as well as xrays and blood tests. The vet gave them a quote of $2200-$3200 in total. My parents have low income at the moment (they’re also in their 60s too) so the cost is a real challenge for them. I myself am currently recovering from injuries so the vet bills cost is a challenge for me too. The vet has advised against euthanasia because surgery hasn’t been attempted yet.
I have already tried reaching out to the SPCA, Paw Justice and the Humane Society for Dogs. They told me that they cannot cover the cost of surgery, blood tests or X-rays.
The SPCA and Facebook community members suggested I start a fundraising page instead.
My parents would really appreciate any help to cover the cost of any vet bills including any check ups, surgery, blood tests and xrays for their dog’s health/recovery. Or if you have any advice or suggestions to help my parents, I am open to this too!
Many thanks for your help!
