Help Golden Bay AFC get their players to games.

Golden Bay Association Football Club (GBAFC) is an amateur football club based in the beautiful but remote, Golden Bay, New Zealand. The club was founded in 1967 and is a classic grassroots rural football club. GBAFC has a strong community focus, with the club organizing regular events and activities to promote football and engage with the local community. Our 300 members are spread throughout Golden Bay from Takaka to Pakawau to Abel Tasman.
Our club teams have to travel 150 -180 km over the notorious Takaka Hill (and back) every weekend to play teams in Nelson, Richmond and Motueka.
As a football club, having a mini-bus would provide numerous benefits, such as easier transportation to matches and training sessions, as well as a convenient way to transport equipment and gear.
We reimbursed parents and players over $20k last season for travel expenses. Therefore having a van would also cut down on our members and their families having to use their own vehicles and make convoys to get to matches.
By supporting the Golden Bay AFC fundraiser, you are directly contributing to the success and growth of our sports club, empowering our players to pursue their passion, compete at their best, and form lifelong memories and friendships. Your contribution becomes a pivotal factor in our club's ability to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for our players to excel and achieve their goals.
Golden Bay Association Football Club is located in the beautiful countryside of Takaka, Golden Bay, New Zealand.
We are dedicated to offering an exceptional football experience that caters to players of all skill levels and age groups. We strongly believe in our role of imparting valuable life lessons to our athletes, fostering their personal development both on and off the field. We prioritise core values, promote sportsmanship, and actively engage in community outreach programmes. Our primary objective is to provide every player with the chance to reach their full potential, achieve their aspirations, and nurture a deep passion for the game. By instilling these principles, we aim to create an unrivaled environment for football that extends far beyond the boundaries of the sport itself.
As a remotely based football club, having our own mini-bus would provide numerous benefits, such as easier transportation to training's and matches, instead of parents and players having to drive themselves long distances over the Takaka hill.
