Sponsor me as I embark on the Clipper Round the Race 25/26, all while raising awareness for UNICEF.
Haumoana, Hawke's Bay
Aged 64 with three children, I’ve been plodding my way through life with lots of work and little downtime. After fighting cancer twice, I realised that it was time to start living. That’s when I came across the Clipper Round the World Race.
With no prior sailing experience, I'm giving up my 9-5 to embark on one of the world’s toughest endurance challenges while supporting the work of UNICEF.
Yes, you heard me right - I am a complete beginner! I will have to learn how to sail and undergo extensive training before I start the race. As one of the world's toughest endurance challenges, it isn't going to be easy but the best things in life never are.
What is The Clipper Round the World Race?
- 11 x 70’ yachts, racing around the world
- 11 months circumnavigating the world in cramped living quarters with 22 other people
- 46,650 miles (75,000km) & six ocean crossings
- No mod cons – this is a race
The best part is that I get to volunteer with UNICEF, meet people from around the world, and help local communities.
Of course, an adventure like this doesn't come cheap and I am currently looking for donations and sponsorship to fund my dream.
Any support, big or small, will be greatly appreciated. In return, you will be nominated as a Crew Supporter and receive regular updates from land and sea.
Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook too!
Your generous donations will go towards training, safety gear, transport, and race fees. It's not all about me though! During the race, I'll be taking part in voluntary projects around the world, in partnership with UNICEF.
Hi Lynne and Alec, Thank you for such a generous donation. The money will make a huge difference to my journey and the community work I hope to do. All the best, Geoff
