Georgina is fighting stage 4 cancer. Help her live life to the fullest

Hello, I’m Georgina Hickman.

I was given a devastating cancer diagnosis in July 2018... stage four, advanced colon cancer that had metastasised to my liver and just started to spread to the lower part of both lungs. If the cancer had not responded to the chemo, I only had about three months left here on this earth! It was a hideously dark time, I was in shock for weeks. Despite the state of trauma in my mind and my physical weakness, I managed to gather the ‘strength’ to face this health crisis, with every bit of effort I could channel into saving my life!

The tumours have shrunk BUT they are still there. It’s a difficult thing to carry on living my life, without it totally dominating and restricting my peace of mind. Over the past ten months, I’ve been working hard at looking after my ‘whole’ self. This has included educating myself about my body’s mechanics, diet and natural medication to give me a holistic treatment plan. I’m being treated by a naturopath, as well as the oncology medical team assigned to care for me, through my local hospital.

I’m currently on a trip in the UK, with my husband and son. My husband has taken three months off work, which is mostly unpaid leave, so we currently have no income. I would LOVE to travel to some places in Europe while we are based in the UK visiting friends and family.

Needless to say, this all requires money that we do not have. It is not easy asking for help, but neither is having a disease that statistically is going to take me from my loved ones! Your generosity will help towards better health for me and enable my family and I to experience and visit places I’ve longed to see with them.
