Help me study Cello at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London
Nationwide
I’m Jack Moyer, a young New Zealand cellist, and I have the incredible opportunity to study at one of the world’s top music schools, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. I have been accepted to study in their four-year Honours Bachelor of Music Performance programme, starting later this year.
As an international student living in London, the tuition fees are not cheap on top of travelling with a cello and accommodation. So, I’ll need financial help to study there.
Last year, I was fortunate to travel to Europe through the Royal Overseas League Pettman Scholarship. Based in London, I had the opportunity to perform across the UK including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and have lessons. I met Louise Hopkins and knew she was the teacher for me. I am so excited about the opportunity at Guildhall to reach my full potential as a musician.
I am fundraising furiously to raise money to help me get to London. I have been saving from working part-time and freelancing with orchestras around the country including the NZSO and APO. I am hoping to fund the rest through a mixture of scholarships, concerts and busking.
Your donation will make a huge difference and help to support me during my studies in London. Every little bit will help.
If you’d like to hear me play and are in Wellington, come along on Sunday 26 May, St Andrew’s on the Terrace at 2.30pm. I’ll be playing Bach’s Goldberg Variations for string trio with Monique Lapins (NZ String Quartet) and Alex McFarlane (NZSO).
The funds will go towards my tuition fees, living expenses and transport costs e.g flights
Thank you so much Hillary! Hope to see you all soon ❤️
