Shannon Brill, Kayla Hamilton, Caleb Arkwright, and Ruby Gilligan are all third-year acting students at Unitec. They have all successfully gained places at the Shanghai Theatre Academy three week summer intensive, where they will primarily study Chinese Opera. This is an incredible opportunity to gain a new perspective on theatre and experience a culture none have immersed in before. Of course, this opportunity comes at a cost, and a rather large one at that. Thankfully, the four students received scholarships, meaning the intensive is paid for by the STA; however, the four students must cover flights, visas, food, transportation, and accommodation on either side of the three weeks and other expenses.
