Helping Mitch get to Macau for the Golf Masters in September. A special invitational event that he has worked hard to earn.
Great Barrier Island, Auckland
Just over 12 months ago my brother Mitch achieved one of his golfing dreams in winning Gold at the Special Olympics in Germany. This win saw Mitch invited to play at the prestigious Macau Golf Masters in September 2024.
Since winning gold at the Special Olympics, Mitch has faced some massive challenges. Not long after returning from Germany our father Mike who was Mitch’s Coach and Caddie passed away after a short illness. During Dads illness, Mitch was diagnosed with a brain tumour and he has endured surgery, radiotherapy and is currently part way through chemotherapy.
Despite everything, Mitch's spirit remains strong, and he is so determined to return to the form which won him Olympic gold. Mitch was able to demonstrate his determination recently in winning the Club Championships at his home club on Great Barrier Island, New Zealand.
Doctors have just cleared Mitch to compete in Macau and we are determined to get him there.
Since Dads passing, I have become Mitch's Primary Carer and the cost of travel & accommodation for Mitch, his Caddie and I are too much for me to handle alone.
Please consider donating what you can to support Mitch in realising another of his golfing dreams.
The generosity of others has always motivated Mitch and we are so grateful to those who have supported him before.
Your support will not only help Mitch participate in Macau but will be a source of strength during his difficult journey.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Mitch & Aimee
Mitch is my younger brother who I love dearly.
The money will be spent on getting Mitch, Caddie and myself to the event via flights, accommodation and expenses while in Macau.
And We’re Back! 3 October 2024
Hello everyone.
Thought I’d jump on here quickly and give everyone an update on how Mitch’s tournament in Macau went since you all supported us to get there. Mitch loved every moment of it and made some amazing memories and friends. He opened up opportunities for the future for his golf and most of all he had fun. The level at the tournament was a step above anything he’s ever competed against and he did amazing considering that he was playing in 35 degree heat each day. He placed 8th out of the top 14 golfers at the event and has also been invited to go back next year.
Thanks again to all of you for supporting Mitch and his golfing dreams. We really appreciate every single one of you 🖤
