I have the incredible privilege to say that I have been selected to be a member of the Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand Young Shakespeare Company 2022. Each year, 24 young actors from around New Zealand are selected from SGCNZ’s National Shakespeare Schools Production to form the SGCNZ Young Shakespeare Company. As part of the Young Shakespeare Company, we participate in a comprehensive and exciting ‘package’ which is based primarily at Shakespeare’s Globe London. We get to do workshops, talks, Q&A sessions about the plays with actors and directors. Go on behind the scene tours of the Globe, Rose and National Theatre, watch performances and rehearse at the Globe. Over the two weeks in London, we will have twelve rehearsals taken by a Globe Director in scenes from one of Shakespeare’s plays which we will have the incredible opportunity to perform the public.

This is an opportunity that will truly change my life and I am incredibly grateful to be selected for this company, to represent not only Christchurch, but also New Zealand on the London stage!
