We are fundraising to enable Sarah to pursue a Masters degree programme in Europe.
Manawatu / Whanganui
Sarah Miller is 22 years old. She was born and educated in Whanganui. This year she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Victoria University of Wellington, majoring in French and International Relations and a First Class Honours degree in International Relations.
In 2018, Sarah studied International Relations at the Paris Institute of Political Studies, as part of Victoria University's exchange programme.
She has now been accepted into a prestigious post-graduate programme, the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters in Security Intelligence and Strategic Studies. Over two years of study beginning in September this year, she will attend Glasgow University. Dublin City University and Charles University in Prague.
In 2020, Sarah has been awarded three academic prizes from Victoria University: the European Union Prize for a post-graduate essay on an aspect of the EU; the Margaret Clark Prize for a research essay written for her Honours degree and the Alan Robinson Memorial Prize, awarded to the best student completing an Honours degree in Political Science or International Relations. Regretfully, these prizes were awarded after applications for several major scholarships had to be submitted.
Sarah has received a scholarship from the Ministry of Defence, which will pay three-quarters of her tuition fees. Accommodation and travel costs must still be found. Many organisations, both national and international, are not offering scholarships or grants in 2020 due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

The funds raised will help to pay for Sarah's accommodation costs over the two years which, based on our first invoice from Glasgow University, could be as much as NZ$28,000. Any surplus would go towards general living costs.
