Tinui CraftCorner to get up and running again after Cyclone Gabrielle.
Wellington, Masterton District
We are a Craft Shop situated in Tinui, a small Village 15 minutes in land from Castlepoint on the Wairarapa Coast, our little shop has recently been flooded in Cyclone Gabrielle, we were formed 40 years ago by our local people to sell their crafts, and was still going strong before Cyclone Gabrielle hit We are determined to reopen but as we only take percentage of sales to run our shop, we are facing some cost to get started again, we need just a bit of a helping hand to replace some of what we have lost, your donation will be greatly appreciated.
We have lost a bit of equipment that we need to run our wee shop, we run on the smell of an oily rag, so didn’t have insurance.
We are progressing with the clean up. 25 February 2023
We are progressing with the clean up of the Craft Shop, everything has been cleared out into the old Post Office, all the low lying stock has been damaged and had to be thrown out, all museum pieces have been checked and accessed for damage. The Crafts Shop itself has been cleaned with high pressure hose’s, and now waiting for it dry out before any structural repairs can be made, we are progressing but it will take a long time to get back to normal.
