Help get us to PAX Fest 2021 in Melbourne to represent Aotearoa and Māori game development. Every little bit counts whānau!
Auckland
Kia ora e te whānau, we're Māori game developers and we received some amazing news! If ya'll didn't know what PAX Fest is, it is the largest gaming festival in Australasia. It's held in Melbourne every year and it celebrates gaming culture.
We received a call from Celeste of Indigitek - they're a not-for-profit organisation in Sydney that aims to get indigenous people into all parts of STEM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Mathematics).
This year they've been given their own room and they asked if we want to speak on their panel and also promote our game to the public and potential investors.
Of course we were ecstatic at the chance to share our experience in the indigenous game-making space. They have full festival tickets and [limited] accommodation provided for us in Melbourne, however we need to get our flights and possibly, additional accommodation.
We'd be representing a diverse range of demographics. We are from Aotearoa/New Zealand and we're the first and only team where all the women have moko kauae. We're all part of and/or allies to the alphabet mafia (LGBTQIA+) community. Our ages range from 27-43yo and we're all committed to becoming full-time in this game development.
I am the creative director and 'driver' of our game. This opportunity is one that we are grateful and excited to make the most of!
Return flights from Auckland to Melbourne for 6 people. Excess funds will go towards accommodation. In unforeseen circumstances that disallow travel, funds will be held and a poll taken for donators to choose next steps.
Third get-together this weekend! 13 July 2021
Kia ora! Jojo, Matiu, Morgana and Steph are meeting this weekend to work on the narrative assets AND storyboard our trailer for the game.
We're so excited to be back together!
Kia ora! Thank you for taking us over the halfway mark, ngā mihi ake!
I love this so much! Thank you, every little bit counts!
