The Asia Pacific Autism Conference (APAC) brings together members of the international autism community from around the world.
Auckland
Having our Lead Family Consultant and Services Manager attend APAC helps us learn more about current developments in autism and latest international research. This is part of our wider goal of ensuring children with Autism Spectrum, supported by their families and communities, realise their potential and achieve their very best.
To send Arletta and Gera to APAC we need to raise a further $2000. Your help would be greatly appreciated to achieve this final goal!
The Children's Autism Foundation is committed to best practice, evidence-based services, and we welcome this opportunity!
More about APAC:
The conference brings together people on the spectrum and their family members, service providers, researchers and policy makers as one community, to explore how people on the spectrum of all ages, supported by their families and communities, can be the people they want to be, realise their potential and achieve their very best.
'Growing with autism' is the conference theme, reflecting the shift in autism research and practice to look beyond the early childhood and school years and focus on the whole lifespan for people on the spectrum.
There are more than fifteen keynote speakers committed to speaking at APAC 17 including Dr Peter Vermeulen from Belgium and Dr Barry Prizant, Professor Samuel Odom and Associate Professor Stephen Shore all from the USA. The keynote speakers represent many of the voices in the autism community including people on the spectrum, family members, researchers and practitioners.
The Australian Advisory Board on Autism Spectrum Disorders is the conference convenor for the Asia Pacific Autism Conference (APAC) and the hosting organisation for APAC 17 is Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect).
