Thanks to everyone's generous donations, we've bought a wheelchair & took it out for a spin this weekend. I'll be able to give my friend's one back & am so grateful for her lending it to us.

I love my new wheels. :-)

  • Update for the end of July

      31 July 2016

Here’s an update of where we are now at the end of July.

    So far we’ve bought:

The Firefly (Yippee! It is awesome! www.wheelworld.co.nz)

The tow bar & had it fitted

    The roof-rack

We are still waiting on information for the wheelchair attachment, to go onto the tow-bar.

We have priced up a roofbox (for transporting the wheelchair in rainy weather) but we won’t buy one until I have a wheelchair, to make sure it fits.

Unfortunately, I’ve just been told it will be double the waiting time to see an Occupational Therapist about a wheelchair, so we still have another 3 months wait. (Thanks again to Angela for lending me her wheelchair.)

Today we took the wheelchair, with the Firefly attached to it, out this morning & it was so much fun! A few more tweaks to how we have attached it & our kids riding their bikes will have trouble keeping up with me.

Thanks again to everyone who has donated. It’s such a wonderful feeling to be able to get out together as a family. We really appreciate your support in helping this happen.

On 18th June a Progressive Dinner was held in Palmerston North to raise funds for this page.

The starter was at Seth & Pauline's house.

Then onto dinner at Linda & Kevin's house.

Finally dessert at Jim & Bev's house.

We want to say a huge thank-you to everyone involved in this event, from those who organised it, to those who hosted, cooked food & everyone who bought a ticket. We really appreciate your support.

    This event raised $600.

  • We’re over half-way towards our goal.

Thanks to everyone who has shared our Give a Little page, or bought a sausage at the sausage sizzle, or bought one of the pedals Ian has made (SL74 effects), or made a donation. We really appreciate your support. We are so thrilled and humbled that we are now over half-way towards our goal.

Thanks to your help, we now have enough raised for a Firefly.

We have found a supplier in New Zealand.

We had a sausage sizzle at Suburbs Football Club on Mothers' Day, when the Mainland Men's Team was playing. Thanks to everyone who bought a sausage or two and to people who made generous donations. We appreciate your support.

A friend lent us her wheelchair, to try out. It was great for all four of us to be able to get out together. It will be fantastic to get my own wheelchair and firefly, to get my independence and family time back. :-) Thanks heaps to everyone who has donated sofar, we are totally blown away by your kindness.
