Fundraising to help get me to-and-from the CCC by UTMB 100km ultramarathon (the final of the UTMB World Series) in August 2023
Rotorua, Bay Of Plenty
Well, via Italy and Switzerland. Hi there; my name is Sean McWilliams. I’m a dad, husband, teacher, coach, volunteer, and trail & ultramarathon runner living in Rotorua. I have qualified for the prestigious CCC by UTMB 100km ultramarathon for 2023, which takes in 100 gnarly kilometers and more than 6000m of climbing around the Mont Blanc massif on the border of France, Italy, and Switzerland. It’s an amazing privilege to have qualified and then been accepted for this race, which acts as the de facto 100km world champs and is the final of the UTMB World Series (which the Tarawera Ultramarathon is a part of) but getting there isn’t cheap. So, I'm reaching out to my wider community to give me a little bit of a hand!
Primarily flights, with some going to cover accommodation costs. All proceeds from fundraising will go towards costs for this trip ($8-10K). If I raise finds in excess of my costs, these will be donated to the CatWalk Spinal Cord Injury Research Trust.
