From me to PNG cofounder, Sam O'Connell will run the Auckland 1/2 Marathon with a bag FULL of books to build libraries in Good Enough Island
Auckland
From me to PNG is a hearty not-for-profit organisation, our mission is to build and improve school libraries in the villages of Papua New Guinea, for children living in poverty.
Why? Because we believe all children, no matter where they come from DESERVE equal educational opportunities, giving them the chance to discover their interests, talents and passions, so they are able to firstly, realize their dreams, then chase them with the new-found opportunities. And we want to be there every step of the way.
Recently, we received an email from Joan, Joan lives in 'Good Enough Island', which is located east off the Mainland of PNG, in Milne Bay Province. Due to being so remote, they have nothing. The school libraries have little books which are mainly out-dated and ruined. We have made getting a container to them our next project. Although, we need help. We will receive zero funding due to the location of Good Enough Island. So in order to get a container there, we need to fundraise. In a bid to receive donations, I, Samantha O'Connell, Co-founder of From me to PNG will be running the Auckland 1/2 Marathon, WITH a bag full of books.
So, if you think I have what it takes or you want to help From me to PNG regardless, get behind - Getting Good Enough Books to Good Enough Island. And be part of allowing children the chance to gain an education and prosper, no matter where they come from.
From me to PNG is a hearty not-for-profit organisation, our mission is to build and improve school libraries in the villages of Papua New Guinea, for children living in poverty. We do this by receiving redundant books and school resources from all over New Zealand – then shipment by shipment we get the books to PNG, and finally put them into libraries and ensure it is a safe learning environment

And we want to be there every step of the way.
We believe we can do this through the power of books and substantial learning facilities.
Money raised will go towards the shipment of the container to the remote island.
