Lisa is fighting Glioblastoma to spend more time with her two beautiful boys, husband Jeff, wider family and friends she holds close.
Mangawhai, Northland
Our friend Lisa is facing the unimaginable.
3.5 years ago she was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive brain tumour, Glioblastoma. Lisa has fought with extraordinary courage, enduring 4 major surgeries, countless radiation and chemo.
Lisa’s drive is family: two beautiful boys and husband Jeff, her parents, wider family, and friends she holds close. Jeff's been her constant, holding the family together, with strong shoulders to carry her fear.
Now, traditional treatments have been exhausted.
Lisa’s condition has progressed and simple tasks are harder. Yet she’s still a pocket-rocket - brave and determined. She's a champion at life! Selfless mum, loving wife and daughter, loyal friend. We all carry special memories of her. She was a professional dancer and founder of DancEnergy, mentoring 100s of young dancers, giving them confidence and the joy of movement.
Now, she needs our help.
There is a final option, a targeted drug, Vorasidenib. It’s not a cure, but has shown to shrink tumours, ease symptoms, and slow Glioblastoma’s progression. For Lisa, it means more memories, love & laughter.
Treatment is costly: $70,000 per year, and isn’t funded by Pharmac or the government.
Lisa & Jeff are humble, private people who’ve never asked for help. They’ve self-funded this journey to date, including an exorbitant fee for Avastin.
So we’re asking for them.
Every dollar will go toward this drug. If you’re able to give, even a little, you’ll help Lisa buy TIME: Time with her boys, family and us all. ❤️
We are family (but really just friends, friends that feel like fam ❤️)
All donations will help pay for an unfunded targeted drug called Vorasidenib.
