Merry Christmas!! This has been a crazy year for us with Benjiro’s surgery in the US. St Louis surpassed our expectations & the surgery Ben had has significantly improved his mobility & quality of life. Well we made it to St Louis, USA, the Cardinals have a new No 1 fan and last Thursday Benjiro had his SDR surgery!
It is now Sunday evening here and we are four days post surgery! After a rough couple of days someone was so happy to be out of bed & feeling much better today. Our brave little man has had to handle a lot of pain and nausea, but thankfully it now seems to be under control.
Ben was so excited to get out of bed for the first time in four days today. All going to plan we will be discharged on Tuesday.

Well it's only a few days now until we fly out for our and Benjiro's big adventure. We're experiencing all that last minute stress, excitement and nerves that comes with heading out into the unknown. Benjiro himself is full of positivity and can't wait until "I can learn to walk after my surgery". Please have Ben in your thoughts and send him lots of rainbows, good wishes, hugs and smiles!
We also want to thank everyone SO much for your amazing support. Many apologies to those that have been so generous and we have yet to thank you personally, but please know we have seen your kind messages and generosity. As you can imagine life has snowballed lately, so please accept our humblest thanks and gratitude for the time being. We hope we can thank you all in person in the weeks, months and year to come.

Thank you all SO much! The response to the give-a-little page has been huge, we are so grateful and overwhelmed. There are many of you working hard behind the scenes. Thank you for your tireless efforts. Benjiro is a very lucky boy and we are a lucky family. It is humbling to think how many awesome people we have in our lives.
The blueprint is in place for the big trip across to St Louis and we are busy sorting out and finalising details. As you can imagine, we have mixed feelings- a combination of super excitement and apprehension. Ben seems to be taking it all in his stride, his biggest concern being the length of the flight!
