Help Little Gosha Fight Recurrence of Neuroblastoma (Peritoneal Cancer)
Auckland
Gosha was born a perfectly healthy baby. Up to three years, everything was fine. In 2014 he began to complain about some pain in the leg and after numerous tests a malignant tumor (neuroblastoma) with lesions (cancer) of the bone marrow was found. Gosha received six courses of chemotherapy in Moscow, Russia and the result was amazing – the bone marrow had almost cleared up. Then there was a successful autologous bone marrow transplantation and Gosha could finally enjoy his life out of hospital! Unfortunately, after 7 months a new lesion was found in his abdomen. Doctors in Russia said they could not help Gosha to fight the recurrence of neuroblastoma …
After a vast research, Gosha’s parents found Greifswald University Hospital in Germany that specializes in the treatment of neuroblastoma relapse, where he had two out of five planned courses of immunotherapy.
Unfortunately, a new lesion was found in his abdomen with possible bone metastases in his arm. Immunotherapy treatment cannot be used anymore.
Gosha’s next step is an operation where the lesion will be removed and then anti-relapse chemotherapy treatment is planned. Later, if the treatment is successful and we believe it will definitely be, haploidentical transplantation of bone marrow is possible (one of the parents will be a donor).
All these treatments cost a lot of money. The operation and anti-relapse chemotherapy cost € 216 000 and further treatment is going to cost € 345 000. It is impossible for Gosha’s family to meet the costs and they are asking for help!
If you could donate even the smallest amount, it would make a big difference to the family!
Much Aroha, everyone!
Funds will be paid to a verified bank account of Nikolay Kovalenko (Gosha’s father)
We have started this fundraiser knowing that our friend's son Gosha and his family will need some helping hands along the way to fight Gosha's cancer.
