We believe all tamariki and rangatahi should have the opportunity to participate in rugby and sports in an inclusive and supportive environment. Sense Rugby caters for those who have differences in their social and emotional capacities, motor skills and sensory processing, which can make joining a club rugby team challenging.
Sense Rugby provides a rugby programme led by trained Pediatric Occupational Therapists and each session is designed to cater for the group’s diverse needs. Our sessions enable our young people to get an experience that meets their needs and allows them to build confidence, develop a sense of community and connection to sport, and receive the many benefits of living an active lifestyle.

We use adapted rugby activities to help tamariki and rangatahi who are disabled or neurodiverse improve their motor skills, social skills, emotional regulation, and overall wellbeing. By supporting Sense Rugby, you're helping us create a more inclusive community where all young people can thrive.
Use of funds
We want to continue the growth of Sense Rugby across Aotearoa to reach even more tamariki and rangatahi! Funds will be spent on new equipment and delivery costs to ensure high quality, inclusive and free programmes across the motu.
