Thane Pullan aka the Grumpy Cripple, has a rare form of Cerebral Palsy, but has never let that get in the way of his ambition.

"My journey in comedy started quite suddenly. I first performed at the darkroom then was encouraged to enter the South Island RAW comedy competition, which I went on to win. Publicity from this got me 4,000 likes on my Facebook page Grumpy Cripple. Grumpy Cripple is a meme page like Grumpy Cat.
I have since performed in multiple places around the country like Auckland, Wellington, Picton, Timaru. Luckily my parents help finance these trips."
Thane Pullan aka the Grumpy Cripple, has a form of Cerebral Palsy which leaves him wheelchair bound and speaking through a computer. Obviously this isn't the ideal set up for a stand up comedian, so Thane had to develop software himself which enables him to perform comedy.
Unfortunately Thane's condition makes travel for gigs very difficult as he requires both a carer and a tour manager for any major out of town trips, as well as staying in hotels instead of on couches. This means that the earnings from any gig are always outweighed by the costs involved, and never is this more true than trying to do a festival show in a different country.
Despite these set backs Thane is determined to continue pushing his career to the next level, which means finding his way to Melbourne Fringe Festival. This is a dream for Thane, and one that will hopefully becoming attainable with your incredibly selfless contribution.
The money will be used by Grandpa Figs to pay for flights, accomodation, marketing and other costs associated with getting Thane over to Melbourne to perform.
