Hamilton Roller Skating Rink vandalised by fire, any donation would be greatly appreciated
Hamilton, Waikato
Hamilton Roller Skating Rink was targeted by a group of adolescents causing considerable damage due to a fire that will cost thousands to repair. Friday night around 11 pm they received a phone call from Emergency Services telling them that the rink was on fire. Unfortunately, the fire has caused damage to the power supply, internal drain for the stormwater outlet, external polycarbonate, concrete floor, kickboard, storage and some rink gear which was burnt to a cinder. The internal drain damage is a major concern and needs to be repaired urgently as this is what can help prevent the rink from being flooded. The 5 offenders have been caught but no charges will be pressed due to their ages and no chance of recouping damage costs.
The Hamilton Roller Skating Rink is a non-profit incorporated society that is run by a group of hard-working volunteers. Their main goal is to keep the charges as low as possible for it to be an affordable activity for families or individuals.
Any donations, big or small would be greatly appreciated.
Any money raised will be spent on repairs to the skating rink and replacing damaged property.
Funds to be paid to Kathy Moody; one of the trustees for Hamilton Roller Skating Club
