Brass Razoo! 24-hours of live music for new instruments for Hamilton brass bands
Hamilton, Waikato
Hamilton City Brass along with Hamilton Auxiliary Brass will be playing through the night during our upcoming ‘Brass Razoo’. This mega-fundraising event will involve over 80 of our musicians of all ages from three bands – including the Hamilton Brass Factory – an enthusiastic learners group which develops young brass players. The bands have invited other local bands, musicians, choirs and singers to perform during the 24-hours which will bring a diverse musical programme to the Razoo.
New instruments will benefit our groups as brass instruments don’t get better with age!
We currently have 87 members aged 9 to 82 years, across our three bands - each with varied backgrounds, ethnicities, ages, professions, and family situations. Our organisation brings together people and families from all walks of life, all joining in to participate in the joy of making music. We know that playing music in a group fosters the ability to work and collaborate with others, give and receive constructive feedback and builds on crucial social skills.
Please help us as we work hard to reach our goal of new instruments for our bands.
Catering to all musical abilities, our organisation comprises three brass bands, a thriving membership, regular concert series, a development band & a strong determination for success.
We are fundraising to purchase a brand new trombone and a brand new cornet. If we don't meet our target, we'll purchase just one instrument.
