Thank you everyone for all the kind messages and generosity.

Kaia had her first round of the intra arterial chemo last week and it went really well.

We are so relieved to have the first one done and she has been recovering well. Everyone involved in her care has been amazing.

It was also nice to be able to be at home for Christmas and give Kaia a nice break before the next one, hopefully in around 4 weeks.

We are so grateful to everyone for supporting us and sending so much love to Kaia, it is all so appreciated.

    Xx

We are so grateful to everyone for their generosity in helping us try and get Kaia to Switzerland. Due to the change in circumstances funds will be put aside to solely help with any costs relating to Kaia's ongoing care, travel for treatments and any unexpected costs that may arise.

If you would like a refund due to the funds not being used to travel to Switzerland please contact Givealittle at helpdesk@givealittle.co.nz by 25 December 2025 for a full refund.

Thank you so much to everyone for your kind messages of support for our daughter, they really do mean the world as we prepare for her surgery next week.

We will continue to post updates on this page about her journey and are so appreciative of the outpouring of support for our family.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and happy holidays

    xx

Just keep making the best decisions you can with the information you have - and hopefully everyone's love and donations help to ease the way just a little, no matter what road you travel.

Firstly we want to begin by saying how deeply grateful we are for the support, kindness and generosity you have shown our family. The messages, donations, fundraisers and the way our community has wrapped around Kaia has meant more to us than we can ever express.

After a very stressful and emotional couple of weeks, we have had to make the decision not to proceed with travelling to Switzerland. We had our flight booked for this week and Kaia had undergone the necessary procedures however, we ran out of time to gain clarity on a number of issues and didn’t feel confident leaving our whole support system with so much uncertainty.

Our medical team here have been outstanding and we are working closely with them to arrange her treatment plan in NZ. The procedure Kaia needs (and was going to receive in Switzerland) is extremely rare in NZ and does come with risks, however, our team are confident in Kaia receiving this treatment here.
