Our 15-year-old daughter Abigail has been bravely battling a rare C2, C3 spinal AVM since July 2023. Despite numerous hospital visits and four serious bleeds, her condition has worsened, now complicated by an aneurysm. Local specialists in Dunedin have been unable to guarantee effective treatment due to the risky location of her AVM. However, a specialist in Phoenix, Arizona, has confirmed they can offer a surgical solution.
Abigail’s condition has also taken a toll on her mental health, requiring medication for anxiety and depression. To care for her full-time, I’ve had to leave my job, and our family’s income is insufficient to cover the high costs of overseas treatment.
Abigail is a joyful and optimistic teenager with a bright future ahead. We are determined to get her the help she needs, but we need your support to make this possible. Every donation will bring us closer to giving Abigail the treatment she urgently needs.

Use of funds
The funds will cover Abigail's medical, rehab, therapy, food, transportation, and personal expenses while overseas. If the goal is unmet, the funds will still be needed and used for her continued treatment and rehabilitation in New Zealand.
