Aimee has been selected as one of 24 students to represent New Zealand as a member of SGCNZ - Young Shakespeare Company (2019)
Nelson / Tasman
Hi, my name is Aimee Robinson, I am 17 and a student at Nelson College for Girls.
I am one of 24 students selected to represent New Zealand as a member of Shakespeare Globe Centre New Zealand - Young Shakespeare Company (2019), which will undertake workshops and a trip to perform at the Globe Theatre in London. The estimated cost of the trip is $9000.
I have taken part in 3 Regional festivals, winning a number of awards at this years festival for my part as Olivia in Twelfth Night. I was selected as the Nelson / Tasman 'Direct Entry' for the National Schools Shakespeare Production (NSSP).
I have been involved in numerous local productions. Highlights include Bonnie in Anything Goes, Widow Corney in Oliver, Rent and choreography for Anything Goes, Legally Blonde, Producers, Hairspray and Grease. This year I gained an Associate level with NZ Association of Modern Dance and have been selected for their Scholarship Awards.
I am so grateful to Dawn Sanders and the Directors at NSSP for this wonderful opportunity. I'd also like to thank everyone who has helped me on this journey including the amazing friends I made at NSSP.
Thank you for reading.
The money is being raised for me to go with the Young Shakespeare Company to the Globe next year
Any money I am lucky enough to receive will be used to fund flights, accommodation and insurance.
