Help Amber's family to relieve financial stress

    Amber has had 36 seizures in 5 days

    She has had a load of medicine pumped through her body because of them , still in hospital.

    Unfortunately amber has been having far too many seizures to go home, some lasting from 4 mins up to 40 mins long.

    She has had a range of medicine to try and stop them but still no luck.

    She is extremely tired and still not her happy wee self.

    It's starting to affect our family now as a whole , and we are all exausted.

    It's an emotional rollercoaster and we are trying to remain positive for Amber.

    13 days later wee amber still remains in hospital.

    We have some much needed meetings, and the medical team in both Christchurch and Dunedin hospital have been fantastic.

    Wee amber is still not back to her wee happy self, she has been having a lot of siezures, medicine to stop them which can be a bit touch and go.

    We are having more referrals to the palliative team and a social worker to have some plans in place, we have also discussed and gone over a end of care life plan

    I'm unable to really change the title or headings of this page, but we are now focusing on raising money to make memories with our wee girl.

  • Home to hospital

    We arrived back to Dunedin hospital yesterday via a life flight.

    The team here got a good run down of what's been happening.

    A very hard but needed meeting was held for amber's step father and myself, discussions and a clear reality of amber's future was discussed.

    We have also been referred to the palliative team here.

    Not too sure when we can go home but amber is still healing.

    She is still not herself yet, and I have only seen little glimpses of my wee girl.

    We have also been offered a referral to make a wish, I'm guessing so we can have some lasting memories as a family.

    Amber is expected to have some familiar faces to visit her today .

    Welcome home my wee princess , we can do this.

    We update

    We were meant to have been heading home early next week, possibly on Monday or Tuesday, but amber has not done so well post op.

    Her oxygen levels have been up and down, she has had to have a couple of interventions to help her breathing being bagged , high flow oxygen is still running, seizures and meds to help stop them, she is very tired and sleepy most of the time.

    We are still in ICU and will be here another night yet.

    All my support people have gone home but another support person will be traveling to be here on Wednesday.
