We just want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported Andrew, Bethany and their whānau so far, both publicly and behind the scenes. The generosity has been incredible.

This is going to be a long journey as they process what’s been lost, but also an opportunity to rebuild and step into the next chapter with the support of their community.

Andrew has shared an overview of the day in a recent news story below. It gives a real sense of how quickly things unfolded, with floodwaters rising from ankle-deep to chest-high in a matter of minutes, forcing the whānau to get to safety and watch as the water took over their home and whenua.
