Help Arlo Access Life Changing Therapy
Bay Of Plenty, Whakatane District
Our beautiful son Arlo is 15 months old. He is a bright, happy little boy with the sweetest smile and a determination that inspires us every day.
Arlo was born with a rare brain condition called polymicrogyria, confirmed on his recent MRI. The scan showed extensive bilateral perisylvian polymicrogyria and simplification of the gyri (the folds of the brain), along with mild to moderate volume loss. This means Arlo’s brain developed differently, affecting the way it controls movement and coordination.
Because of this, Arlo faces significant challenges:
• Severe motor delays – he is not yet able to sit or roll on his own.
• Low muscle tone and poor coordination, especially in his upper limbs.
• Feeding difficulties – Arlo previously required a nasogastric tube and recently underwent surgery for a Mickey button.
We want to give Arlo every possible chance to grow and reach his potential. We have found an incredible opportunity for intensive therapy at Centre of Movement in Rotorua, a specialised program designed to build strength, improve movement, and support feeding skills.
The cost of this treatment, travel, and accommodation is beyond what we can manage alone. We are raising funds to help cover therapy sessions, travel expenses, and any equipment Arlo may need. Every donation or share brings us closer to giving Arlo the best start in life and the chance to reach milestones we once thought impossible.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting our little fighter.
I am Arlo's mum, raising funds on behalf of my son.
