I have been selected to compete at the Archery Youth World Championships in Ireland and am raising funds to cover my expenses.
Auckland
Hey everyone, my name is Ben McLean. I have been selected to represent New Zealand at the World Archery Youth Championships in Ireland.
Competing on the international stage has always been a major aspiration of mine as an athlete. Unfortunately, the lack of funding for minor sports in New Zealand makes it challenging for our athletes to acquire the experience and opportunities needed to succeed at the highest level. From travel expenses to competition fees and equipment costs, the financial strain can be overwhelming.
I am a 19-year-old target recurve archer who has represented New Zealand five times as a junior competitor. I recently won the Under 21 Oceania Championship for 2023, in addition to becoming the senior men’s national champion earlier this year. In the future, I hope to wear the fern at the Olympic Games and at other world events.
Your contribution, no matter the amount, will substantially impact my journey. With your support, I can focus on my training and preparation, ensuring I am in top form to compete against some of the world’s greatest young archers.
The money I have raised from this page will fund my participation in the 2023 World Archery Youth Championships in Ireland. These funds will cover travel, accommodation, entry fees and other associated costs.
Thanks Lily, I'll send them straight
