Club restoration project resulting from a fire

Bombay, Auckland

Wednesday morning we woke to the devastating news that the original Bombay Rugby Club Clubrooms had been severely damaged by a fire. The "Hive" as it is affectionately known, had in recent years been restored as the club changing rooms and indoor training venue. The upgrade was entirely done by club volunteers and the players themselves. Damage to the original building, changing rooms, kitchen, training and fitness equipment will severely impact our clubs ability to function in the 2022 season. On top of the effects of two years of Covid , this has been a devastating blow to the Club. Unfortunately our Insurance policy will only cover a portion of the repairs and damaged contents.

We are reaching out not only to the rugby community, but the wider community to help us get back on our feet. Any support, whether it be large or small would be hugely appreciated. Help us and bring some joy back to our community.
