Fundraising to help Brendon get to Australia for critical brain treatment.
Waikato
Almost a year ago Brendon found out he has a large, complex, grade 4 Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) in his brain.
After multiple appointments over the last year, consultations with different medical teams and Hospitals in New Zealand and internationally, it is now necessary for Brendon to travel to Brisbane for treatment.
This would consist of two trips over the next year for critical radiation treatment.
The aim is to get rid of the AVM completely and stop the seizures, this will help to avoid a life-threatening brain bleed. After treatment, it will be a healing journey of about 3-5 years.
This treatment is not publicly funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Health or available in New Zealand.
Brendon has worked as a Music Teacher for many years in Raglan and Hamilton and has given his time not only to his students and colleagues but to his community. He has recently had to stop working as a teacher, performing in bands, church ministry involvement as a Youth Pastor and other things he’s been involved with due to the affects of the AVM and heavy medication to control seizures and headaches.
The financial contributions raised from this page are to help ease the burden for them in particular paying for treatment and travel costs.
Brendon and Esther along with their families deeply appreciate everyone’s care for them and ask for continued prayers as further plans are made to get them to Brisbane.
I am Brendon’s sister.
Money raised will go towards receiving brain treatment in Australia and to support the family financially during this time.
