My name is Garth Sutherland and I am from The Insides Co, an NZ medical device manufacturer. We have developed a device specifically for patients that have intestinal failure following surgery for IBD or other gastrointestinal diseases. Whether it can help your brother or not depends specifically on his clinical condition and treatment plan, but if it can be of use then we would certainly donate it for his treatment. Hey I’ve been posting on social media over the last week ish and seen some good bumps. I’ll continue to do this til you get what you need. Just clarifying after reading some comments- how is he? Stable? And you mentioned you may have enough to get him home. Is that the case? Just checking in on where things are at ;)

Hi Antony, Thanks so much for sharing on socials, means so so much! At this stage Matty is stable, but not yet stable enough to fly. We are still trying to work out the logistics and waiting on final numbers/invoices for the hospital care before we can figure out how to get him home as he doesn’t have medical insurance. I have had an indication it will cost upwards of $400,000NZ to charter a flight with an ICU team. We are currently working behind the scenes with Air Ambulance Australasia to come up with a plan.

Thank you so much for your generosity Bryan, we are so grateful for the outpouring of empathy for my brother and family. I think we have enough to get him home now. Working with air ambulance and their team which has been a godsend :)
