Please donate to Bruce Smith's recovery and support Jane, Toby and Annie as they rebuild their lives.
Auckland
On Wednesday morning 6 December 2017 the Smith's family home was completely destroyed by fire. Worse, however, Bruce was severely injured as he struggled to fight the fire and save his family and home. Bruce is now in ICU and is in a critical condition. His road to recovery will be a long one spanning many months of rehabilitation and care. The family did have home and contents insurance, however, this is limited and, unfortunately, will not the cover all that was lost.
Responding to the overwhelming calls from the Piha and wider communities to assist, the family has agreed to set up this give a little page.
We are all humbled by the generosity and love that has already been received.
I am the sister-in-law and Aunty of the beneficiaries and I am co-ordinating the community's desire to assist the family.
Initial emergency expenses and unknown costs of long term rehabilitation costs for Bruce. As well as for the family as a whole as they rebuild their lives. Excess funds will be proportioned and donated to emergency services and medical trusts.
