Tessa turns one today! What a wild year it has been. Tessa is still working towards rolling, sitting and crawling, but her smile is pure magic. She brings joy to everyone she meets, and her determination is stronger than we ever knew possible. We returned yesterday from three weeks of intensive therapy at the Centre of Movement kindly funded by your donations. The Centre of Movement have opened the first New Zealand clinic of is kind in Rotorua.

For us as parents, it’s therapy too. It is a place where children like Tessa aren’t just seen, they’re believed in. It is a space where other families like us find comfort, courage, and a community. We’ve cried with strangers who became friends, celebrated tiny milestones that felt like miracles, and found strength we didn’t know we had. Your support has brought us here, and your generosity is giving Tessa life changing therapy to develop functional movement. Thank you again for supporting us on this journey.

Tessa's final week of therapy was tough but her progress has been extraordinary. We are now back home in Christchurch and we're continuing with a home program to build on these gains. Thank you for being part of Tessa's journey. Our next intensive therapy session is in July, and we can’t wait!

Second week down. Tessa has made great gains on her head control. She has also started to weight bare in her arms which is amazing progress.

Again Tessa would not be here without all your donations, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the support.

    Week 1 done ✅

Thank you again for your amazing support. Charlotte, Tessa, and I have made it to Burleigh Heads for the Centre of Movement, where we’re doing a three-week intensive therapy program. Week 1 has been tough—lots of focus on head control and many tears from Tessa—but she’s already making great progress.

Tessa wouldn’t be here without your generosity, and we are so thankful for all the support on our journey to ensure Tessa has movement in her life.

Over the past week our wee Tessa has been working hard with the Center of Movement in Rotorua. We have been focusing on her head control, rolling and grabbing her toys. The support from this page has been incredibly humbling to allow Tessa specailst therapy like this. Charlotte and I have learnt skills to use with Tessa at home. Thank you again for the support and we wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas.

  • 3 months today 😊

Today marks 3 months with our amazing little girl. It also marks more nights with our girl at home than in Hospital.

We have been overwhelmed with the support and we want to thank everyone again who has donated.

Last week Tessa started early intervention therapy in Christchurch at the Champion Centre, where she has access to physio and speach and language therapists once a week.

Your contributions have also helped us book intesive therapy at an Australian based therapy called the Centre of Movement in December and March.

Everyday she is busy with appointments and specialists but her little noises and cute smiles make our new reality so much easier.

We are so lucky to have such a great community of friends and family to support us.

    Thank you again.

Thrilled to read your positive update. What a beautiful baby Tessa is and one day I hope to give her a hug with love and blessings from the older generation of her Young whanau. Jo S.

Thank you for all the generosity. Over the last 10 days Charlotte, Tessa and I have been settling in at home as a family.

Tessa is making great progress and has started feeding orally! This means after 7 long weeks we could finally see her full face and remove her nasogastric feeding tube.

We have started looking into specialist therapy and your contributions will help ensure Tessa has the best opportunities.

Tessa is the happiest little girl and she is the light of our lives.

    Thank you again.

    Charlotte, Luke and Tessa

Charlotte and I are overwhelmed with the amount of support for Tessa. No words can describe how grateful we are for the generosity Tessa has received.

After 42 long days in Hospital, Tessa finally arrived home last night.

We now are able to start creating memories as a family at home.
